Magic is exactly the word I use to describe this shoe. Shoe of the year for me, and I've owned a lot of the hype shoes this year (including SB2 which I didn't like at all).
@@moart87 Clunky, unresponsive, not great at easy paces, not as versatile as it’s hyped up to be. I get that it’s a crowd favorite, but I’d personally rather split that shoe up into two (Novablast 4 + Mach X2) than to try and make it fit all types of runs. For me, NB4 and MX2 are both better than the SB2 for what they’re meant for.
@@moart87Fair enough, although I would argue that if the upper agrees with you, the Mach X2 surpasses the SB2 in versatility. Very underrated shoe IMO.
"Mattress of pleasure" haha I love it. Been really excited by everything I've heard about this one and will pick it up eventually--the two colorways currently released in the US are absolutely repulsive to me though, waiting to see if anything better comes out.
Agree, this shoe is great and the perfect 'Super Trainer'. Feels pretty similar to the Race Shoes but a bit more beefy and stable. The only problem is the Heel Collar for me. It's kind of hard to get a decent lockdown with it.
I love the Skyward X after putting some miles on it. When I first opened the box, I wanted to laugh but I was proven wrong. Now, I am trying the Mach X2 for some speed work today. I've got padded socks and KT tape at the ready for the well documented heel issues.
Great shoe for training & decent for races. I wear socks so no problem with the heel. Tempted by the Hoka Cielo now but might buy a 2nd pair of MachX2 instead. I had been using Saucony speed & Pro for my faster running but the Hoka has been better value so far.
great shoe, had no issues with heel rub for me but cornering isnt the good with it. great ride and love the upper though! would be even better if the heel lockdown was better
Hi Alex, You made me want to order these shoes! So far I have had one experience with a Hoka shoes the Rocket X model 1, and I really liked them a lot! I'm hesitant about the Mach x2 shoe width , Hoka is known to be a narrow shoes. Would you recommend going with the wide version? For comparison, I run with Asics Novablast 3/4, which is very comfortable for me. Thanks!!
I have the Mach X original. I find it stiff and firm, good for faster runs but I don’t like it for easier paces. How does the underfoot feel compare with the original?
I tried them at the store didn’t like the fit upper .. the heel is slipping and not working for me , the Mach x original is on sale now like 120$ .. considering them maybe.. the Mach 6 is my favorite currently love them
Seriously flawed shoe! The performance was great, except it absolutely tore up my left heel (like it has to many other people)I tried it three different times, trying to prevent the heel rubbing, but nothing helped. And in the short time I used it, the outsole was already wearing through to the midsole in under 20 miles. Fortunately I was able to exchange it at my local shoe store.

Whuuut?! SB2 worked wonders for me. Why don’t you like it?

SB 2 very clunky
@@RyKnocks I understand your reasoning. For me it’s the versatility during a run that’s the selling point.

I've loved this shoe so much at different paces I'm looking forward to many more runs ahead.

Love my Mach 5 and 6.
Next shoe for me is between the Saucony Speed 4, Mach X 2 and Topo Specter 2. Depends on discount. Choices, choices!
Loved this shoe just the heel rub killed me I wish it didn’t can’t wait till next version
I have it in wide. Amazing shoe even for a slow runner and heel striker.. ❤
Thanks for sharing!

Hoka is the brand of the year for sure. Mach X 2 is pretty nice, but the Cielo X1, man, what a shoe. Skyward also very special.

I could not run in the Mach 6 in WIDE because my toes were in pain.. Mach X2 in wide and Cielo X1 are perfect for my wide feet.

Hoka Mach X 2 or Nike Zoomx FLY 6 ?
Mach X 2
Can you compare this with Zoom Fly 6 please. Thanks :)
Compared to the Boston 12?
If you don't have problems with the heel then much more fun and energised.
It’s okay it’s nothing special and there is definitely a heel rub issue, blood all over mine atm
is it clunky?
Not clanky at all. Very good if you don't have a problem with the heel.
That heel collar peeled my skin apart! 😂
@@deepmode4894 I know such a shame awesome shoe while it lasted (couple miles)
@@scottwiggans6292 lasted 1.5 miles for me haha
I don't get this shoe. The pb midsole should provide a nice feel or feedback but there is almost none of that.

Why did you make review if you have no words? 🤐
Too bad you heard none :(
